tired.

So the plan to be in bed by midnight clearly hasn't been achieved. Instead I sit wasting time and procrastinating, when I should be relaxing after the brutal 12 hour day of classes that now faces me every Thursday. As one of my fellow classmates described me to my new professor: "She's high on crack!" That definitely got a raised eyebrow. My apparent crackheadedness stems from the fact that I'm taking 5 400-level business courses, 5 hours of Arabic 202 (luckily not for a grade), have secured 10 hours of work a week and was all but forced to be a research assistant by my law professor (NOT that I'm complaining...). Not too shabby indeed, but also quite a handful considering I should be well into my case of senioritis by now. Isn't that what the gen eds are for, to fill your last semester with a complete waste of time? I clearly take the path less travelled by, and instead of flower arrangements and wine tasting, I have strategic management and consulting (yes, flower arrangements and wine tasting , or as we like to call it "Wine Appreciation" are offered as courses at the U of I). I see a lot of stress and tears in the near future, but what's life without challenges, right?? Tomorrow will be better.

100.

Condemned to death

The group went down the street: the soldiers were escorting a man condemned to the gallows.
- That man was no good commented a disciple with Awas-el Salam. – Once I gave him a silver coin to help him to get out of his misery and he did nothing important.
- Perhaps he is no good, but he may now be going to the gallows because of you. Maybe he used the money you gave him to buy a dagger, which he ended up using in the crime committed. In that case, your hands are also bloodied. Instead of trying to support him with love and kindness, you preferred to give him alms and rid yourself of your obligation.

happy new year 2006!!!

Wow! The first post of a new year! A time for new beginnings, new resolutions and new adventures. Wishing everyone all the best the New Year has to bring and that each challenge along the way bring you closer to realizing your dreams.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
